‘Shabaash Mithu’:Taapsee Pannu Set To Create ‘Herstory’ With Powerful Performance In The Biopic


New Delhi: Actress Taapsee Pannu is all set to woo the audience with her power-packed performance as Indian Women’s cricketer Mithali Raj in the upcoming biopic ‘Shabaash Mithu’. The makers of the film dropped the teaser on Monday, giving a glimpse of Taapsee as ace cricketer Mithali, who created history with her brilliant performance.

‘Shabaash Mithu’ is based on the life of Mithali Raj, the skipper of the Indian women’s cricket team, who is known as the game changer of cricket in India.

Taapsee took to her Instagram to share the teaser video. She wrote the caption, “In this Gentlemen’s sport, she did not bother to rewrite history ….. instead she created HERSTORY!”

As soon as the ‘Haseen Dilruba’ actress dropped the video, other celebs hailed Taapsee for her look. Actors Rakul Preet Singh commented on the post by writing, “Wooohooo.” Other also reacted to the post by dropping heart emojis in the comments section and wishing the actress All the best.

Taapse had earlier shared the film’s poster on the occasion of Women’s Day. She captioned the post as, “She continues to inspire millions like me. To break a few stereotypes to lay down a new path ahead for many to follow. This Women’s Day I am cheering for the front runners in the fight to Break the Bias.”

Taapsee has stepped into the shoes of a sportsperson for the second time, after delivering a stellar performance in ‘Rashmi Rocket’ as Rashmi Vira Thakur, an Indian track and field athlete. 

The film has been shot across domestic and international locations and encapsulates the moments that define Mithali’s life.

‘Shabaash Mithu’, which also stars Vijay Raaz in a key role, has been directed by Srijit Mukherji under Viacom18 Studios with a script by Priya Aven and Ajit Andhare serving as the creative producer.
